At Freedom Fans we’re on a journey towards redefining the way we experience life, work, and travel. Our mission is simple but powerful: Make the highest quality products for the van life community.
The Past
Freedom Fans started with a simple love for adventure and life on the road. While converting his 1999 Ford E350 retired ambulance, founder Stephen Recktenwald spent a lot of time learning from the van life community and experiencing the challenges firsthand. Along the way, he saw opportunities to make thoughtful, real-world improvements that could make life in a van more comfortable and enjoyable. Those experiences, shaped by miles traveled across the United States, continue to guide the ideas behind Freedom Fans and the products we’re working to bring to the road.
At present, our team is diligently engaged in the design and refinement process of our flagship product: a skylight featuring an integrated fan. We're excited to announce that preorders for this product are open, with anticipated deliveries being 6 months out. Comprising a diverse group of engineers and fellow van dwellers, our team brings together expertise from various backgrounds, ensuring a keen understanding of the importance of durable components that not only last but also facilitate uninterrupted journeys on the road.
